Prof. Hu was invited to deliver a talk “Make Thin-film Composite Membrane Great Again” in the International Workshop on Membrane in Kobe (iWMK) at Kobe University (Japan) during November 26-27, 2018.
On October 3, 2018, Prof. Andrew Livingston from Imperial College London visited TJPU and delivered a talk "Thin film membranes for molecular sieving separation". Prof. Hu hosted this seminar.
Prof. Hu was invited to deliver a talk “Polysulfone-based Block Copolymer Membrane Materials” in the Joint Symposium of TJPU-UNISA Bilateral Collaboration during September 18-20, 2018.
Prof. Hu was invited to the Cross-Strait Senior Conference on Membrane Science &Technology at Chung Yuan University (Taiwan) during June 21-24, 2018. Prof. Hu also joined the Retirement Ceremony of Prof. Juin-Yih Lai and congratulated Prof. Lai for his great achievements in education and research.
Prof. Hu visited the US membrane center at University of Arkansas and was also invited to give a talk “Surface Engineering of Thin-film Composite Forward Osmosis Membrane” on June 14, 2018.
Prof. Hu joined the 27th Annual Meeting of North American Membrane Society at Lexington (KY, USA) and gave a talk “Structure-Properties of Thin-film Composite Forward Osmosis Membrane” during June 9 - 13, 2018.
After 6 months experimentation, on May 31, 2018 undergraduates from material and environment school had their pre-oral defense for graduation. Prof. Hu attended the defense meeting and gave some constructive advice.
May 22, Prof. W.S. Winston Ho, academician of United States National Academy of Engineering, visited SMMP for exchange visit and made a presentation about the scale-up fabrication of membranes.
