Project A: Preparation of carbon nanotubes (CNTs) supported polyamide FO membrane

● Fabrication of CNTs-PA FO membranes with an ultralow structure parameter less than 40 μm.

● Unprecedented performance (156.59 L m−2 h−1, 1 M NaCl as draw solution) with 4-7 times higher than traditional TFC FO membranes.

● Membrane with novel structure for significant suppress of internal concentration polarization (ICP).

Project B: Preparation of monolayer polyamide (PA) FO film

● Fabrication of monolayer PA films without support via an in-situ formation method from conventional TFC FO membranes.

● Experimental data indicated the concentration polarization of PA film without support for the first time.

● Refined concentration polarization theory of TFC FO membranes.

Project C: Temperature-assisted PRO process: Experimental investigation and potential implications in RO-PRO multi-stage system

● Preparation of PRO membranes with carbon nanotubes (CNTs) composite structure for power generation.

● Integration and optimization of PRO with RO for power generation (PRO) and desalination (RO).
